British Grown
My plant materials are grown here in the UK, supporting 'grown not flown'. I avoid using imported flowers because there is enough beauty right on our doorstep. I grow a small variety in my garden but mostly my materials come from local flower farmers and foraging the hedgerows and woodlands I walk. Any extra flowers I need come from a sustainable UK wholesaler.
Drying Process
I dry my materials using a slow and natural process of hanging them upside down with string in a moisture free room out of direct sunlight. No dyes or preservatives are used. I love watching the natural change, crinkling petals, curling leaves and fading colours.
Mechanics in Design
Wreath bases are made from natural materials including vines, willow or stems of plants. Large designs can use a base of chicken wire that can be reused.
